OzGate Acceptable Usage Policy

To keep the OzGate community a safe and friendly place for children and adults alike, we have produced this Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP). While using the features of OzGate, whether a member or a visitor, the AUP must be adhered to. Failure to do so may result in one or more of the following actions being taken.

• You may be kicked or banned from the chat room.
• Your account may be disabled or removed.
• Your Internet Service Provider may be informed of your actions. If your actions are deemed to have broken their Terms and Conditions of Use/Acceptable Usage Policy, they may also take action against you.
• Any act deemed to be illegal will be reported to the relevant authorities.

You must give your correct details during registration. Your account may be removed should any information given is found to be untrue.

In any event the decision of OzGate is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. OzGate may send email notification of any breach of rules and the action taken, but is not obliged to do so.

Chat
Within Chat you may not:

• Use sexually explicit chat publicly
• Use abusive behavior towards other chatters, or chat monitors.
• Flood the screen with continuous streams of letters or phrases.
• Use sectarian, or racist comments in any form.
• Advertise any other commercial web site without written permission from OzGate.
• Display any telephone numbers.
• By law, we are obliged to keep a record of all public chat.

Nicknames
The Nickname you choose when registering may not:

• Be of sexually explicit nature
• Contain any words OzGate deem to be inappropriate (swear words).
• Contain telephone numbers.
• Be a web site address.

Private Messaging
Abusive or inappropriate PM are not permitted. In the event that a complaint is received, the Webmaster of OzGate may view the logs at the request of the receiving member, in order to ascertain whether a breach of our Acceptable Usage Policy has occurred.

Public Message Board and Forum

• The Public message board and forums may not contain any abusive language, or cause offence to any other member. No sectarian or racist comments may be posted.
• Phone Numbers may not be posted.
• Advertisements may not be posted without prior written permission from OzGate.

Advertising
Commercial advertising of any product/service or website is strictly forbidden without the prior written agreement of OzGate. OzGate reserves the right to charge any registered user for advertising commercial products/services or websites, at a rate that OzGate would reasonably expect if that type of ad were sold, regardless of the users association/or lack of, with the company being advertised.

Content
All services provided by OzGate may be used for lawful purposes only. Transmission, storage, or presentation of any information, data or material in violation of any USA regulation or law is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material, material we judge to be threatening or obscene, or material protected by trade secrets and other statutes. The subscriber agrees to indemnify and hold harmless OzGate from any claims resulting from the use of the service that damages the subscriber or any other party.

NOTE: Pornography and sex-related merchandising are not allowed. This includes sites that may infer sexual content, or links to adult content elsewhere. This is also true for sites that promote any illegal activity or content that may be damaging to our servers or any other server on the Internet. Links to such materials are also not allowed.

Illegal Usage
OzGate servers may be used for lawful purposes only. Transmission, storage, or distribution of any information, data or material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws. Examples of non-acceptable content or links: Pirated software, Hackers programs or archives, Warez sites, MP3, and IRC bots. The user of OzGate service agrees to indemnify and hold harmless OzGate from any claims resulting from the use of the service that damages the subscriber or any other party.

OzGate will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision.

Following materials are strictly prohibited from our network:

• Pirated software
• Hackers programs or archives
• MP3
• IRC

OzGate will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision. If you are found to be in violation our policy, OzGate reserves the right to terminate your account immediately.

Adult Content

This is also true for sites that promote any illegal activity or content that may be damaging to our servers or any other server on the Internet. Links to such materials are also prohibited.

Use of OzGate and any of its related features signifies your acceptance of this Acceptable Usage Policy.
